What is the role of Spirit of Camden?
Spirit of Camden Inc. has played a leading role in developing, activating, and promoting Camden Village as a recognised district precinct. The organisation has coordinated collaborative initiatives between local businesses, venues, creatives, community groups, and government stakeholders to strengthen the identity and visibility of the area.
What is Camden Village
Camden Village is the identified district area within Camden that was established and promoted as part of the NSW Government’s Uptown Program. The name “Camden Village” was adopted to help define the precinct’s unique identity and position the area as a connected lifestyle, tourism, hospitality, entertainment, and community destination that celebrates Camden’s heritage charm while encouraging economic growth and increased visitation.
How has Spirit of Camden inc supported Camden Village
Spirit of Camden has delivered destination marketing campaigns, seasonal activations, community events, live entertainment initiatives, and strategic partnerships designed to increase visitation, local pride, and economic activity within the district. This has included initiatives such as SPINOUT Rock and Roll Festival, Carols by Camdenlight, business promotions, storytelling campaigns, and the ongoing promotion of Camden Village as a vibrant and connected destination.
What is the vision for Camden Village?
The vision for Camden Village is to create a vibrant, welcoming, and activated district that supports local businesses, celebrates community and culture, and encourages people to experience Camden as more than a traditional town centre — positioning it as a unique destination for dining, entertainment, shopping, events, and community experiences.
Spirit of Camden 2026 Annual General Meeting
Spirit of Camden inc will be holding their AGM on Wednesday 19 August at 7pm. Nominations close midnight Wednesday 12 August 2026.
Nominations for the Board require this electronic form completion as well as the Nomination form that requires 2 member signatures.
As per the constitution, founding members who wish to remain on the board can do so for two terms past the initial foundation period.
Please note - Board membership and voting restrictions outlined in the Spirit of Camden Constitution include:
1) Only one member of a family or partnership, or business representation can be on the Spirit of Camden board
2) Only one member of a family or partnership, or business representation has voting rights at an AGM
3) If you are a board member of another community group or hold an elected position on a committee relating to issues that Spirit of Camden are involved with you are ineligible for a role on the Spirit of Camden Board.
The above restrictions do not preclude members of Spirit of Camden being part of a subcommittee, however they do apply for voting on that subcommittee.
