Camden Pub Sells for the First Time in 30 years

The Australian Hotelier Team | 2026-08-12 | Camden

Crown Hotel in Camden, in Sydney’s south west, has sold for the first time in three decades.

On the main thoroughfare of Camden’s fast-growing Camden precinct, Crown Hotel has been sold in an off-market transaction. The pub was family-owned and operated for 30 years.

Generating approximately $110,000 in weekly revenue, the multi-faceted business includes 20 motel rooms, 24 gaming machine entitlements and 2am trading, with the kitchen currently operating under a lease agreement.

The sale was negotiated by Edward Browne and James Smithers of JLL Hotels & Hospitality, attracting significant interest from experienced hoteliers drawn to the asset’s potential and Camden’s robust market fundamentals.

“The Crown Hotel presented a compelling proposition for purchasers seeking an established operation with immediate upside potential,” said Browne.

“The opportunity to take direct control of the food offering and optimise the gaming operations provided clear pathways for an incoming operator to enhance performance.”

The sale highlights the continued strength of the Camden market, which remains one of Sydney’s most dynamic growth corridors.

The region is benefiting from significant private and public investment, rapid population growth, and major infrastructure projects that are enhancing connectivity to the broader Sydney metropolitan area.

The new owner, a private investor, has expressed their commitment to honouring the hotel’s local legacy while investing in its future success within the vibrant Camden community.
