September is a great time to visit Camden, with a full calendar of events, live music, community activities and colourful activations bringing extra energy to the town throughout the month.
Whether you are a local looking for something to do on the weekend or planning a day trip to Camden, there will be plenty happening across Camden Village.
Unlock Camden – Saturday 5 September
September begins with Camden Council’s Unlock Camden event, celebrating the stories, places and experiences that make Camden unique.
Spirit of Camden will be hosting an activation in the Dessert Lab car park, just off John Street near Argyle Street, featuring classic cars, a black and white chequered dance floor and live music.
Young local rock and roll band Denim Rose will take to the stage from midday with a full set, so come along, enjoy the music and have a dance.
It is also a great opportunity to explore Camden’s heritage streets, shops, cafes and local attractions while enjoying everything happening as part of Unlock Camden.
Spring into Camden Village
September will also bring a splash of colour to Camden’s streets as Spring into Camden Village returns.
Local artists will be painting shopfront windows throughout the town, creating bright seasonal displays across participating businesses.
Visitors are encouraged to wander the streets, discover the artwork and take the opportunity to explore some of Camden’s independent retailers, cafes, restaurants and services along the way.
If you spot a favourite window, take a photo and share it — it is a simple way to support local artists and businesses while showcasing Camden.
Unlock Camden and You Could Win
There is another reason to explore Camden this September, with the chance to win a night’s stay at Camden Hotel Suites.
The promotion is supported by Camden Hotel, Camden Hire and McGrath Camden, with McGrath’s Keys to Macarthur podcast adding another local connection to the Unlock Camden theme.
Look out for special Camden Village keyrings being distributed throughout September. Each features a QR code directing visitors to camdenvillage.com.au, where you can subscribe and enter the promotion.
Carrington Fair – Saturday 12 September
The following weekend brings another popular community event, with the Carrington Fair taking place on Saturday 12 September.
Spirit of Camden will be there with a pop-up display, but the fair itself is another good reason to spend the day in the area and discover more of what Camden has to offer.
Camden Volunteer Expo – Saturday 26 September
Later in the month, Camden Civic Centre will host the Camden Council Volunteer Expo on Saturday 26 September.
The event offers visitors the chance to discover local community groups, organisations and volunteering opportunities, including the work being done through Spirit of Camden and Camden Village.
More to Discover Across Camden
September is not limited to these events. Camden Council’s TASTE Camden festival at Camden Town Farm will also bring food, entertainment and activity to the area, while Camden’s pubs, clubs, cafes and venues continue to host live music and events throughout the month.
For visitors, it is the perfect excuse to make a day of it — enjoy breakfast or lunch in town, explore the heritage streets, browse the shops, catch some live music and see what is happening across Camden Village.
